Memory of a stranger

I met Brendan Murphy twice.

The first time in 1999 he came with Paul O'Grady to view my house. I did not know either of them. They had a small dog with them which they wanted to leave in the car. it was a very warm day, so I insisted the dog should be left in a secure enclosure with some water.

They looked around the house and grounds and left.

A few days later Brendan came back alone and unannounced. He had another look around and we had a drink in the back garden.

We chatted for a while and he seemed a nice and I knew he was very very close to Paul, even though I did not who they were.

He made an offer on my house, but alas due to personal health issues of his friend he had to withdraw the offer.

To my surprise a week later he sent a personal note and a cheque for �1,000. He was obliged in law to do nothing and I had asked for nothing.

It's the small things in life that touch us and affect us all our lives.

And if we remember the little acts of kindness the person will live in our heartrs forever and never die.

I live in France and just read the bad news today (January 2010) so I thought that I would share this little story wih you.

He was a kind person!

i miss you so much uncle bren you are always in my heart and my dads (noel) and my sisters abbeys!
hope you're having a great time up in heaven and you're looking down and laughing at everyone! im 19 next week and it only seems like yesterday me abbey and dad came down to go on pauls show for out 15th or 16th!
